Common questions from foreign students
Can I buy a SIM card at the airport?
Not straight away: since 2025 a SIM requires biometrics, SNILS and a Gosuslugi account. Use roaming or an eSIM from home until then.
Which bank should I choose?
There is no official ranking. A Mir card is available at any major bank with your passport and its translation.
