Western politics seen by a non-Westerner

For a foreigner, Western politics looks like a Netflix series: passionate, unpredictable, noisy.

What strikes first is the enormous place of debate — sometimes to excess. In the West, everyone has an opinion, even those who haven't read anything.

From outside, it's fascinating: a very lively democracy, but also very emotional. Themes change quickly: retirement one day, sovereignty the next, ecology after.

What's sometimes missing is continuity. But for someone observing from afar, it's precisely this dynamism that makes the West unique: a place where politics is a national sport.
